Tropaeolum minus
Think of Nasturtiums as a flowering spicy green. The blooms and leaves of the nasturtium plant are both edible. This compact variety is a small mounding plant with dark green foliage and apricot orange petite flowers. It’s ideal for containers and small space gardens. Butterflies, Hummingbirds and beneficial insects are attracted to this plant and deer avoid it. The flat, round leaves are ideal for eating on sandwiches, and add a wonderful, peppery flavor when tossed into salads. Nasturtium blooms are a beautiful garnish for salads or vegetable platters and add a tropical flair to fruit salad.
