Thymus praecox
This beautiful herb is often called “Creeping Thyme.” The fragrant foliage forms a dense mat of low-growing carpet. The soft, fuzzy, oval leaves grow on woody stems and are covered with pale pink flowers in July that bring pollinators to the garden. It is an ideal choice planted in borders, spilling over container edges or used as groundcover. In the kitchen it can be used fresh or dry in fish, poultry and vegetable dishes. Hardy in zones 5-10.
