As the name suggests, this an extremely large variety. It has a glossy, deep orange skin with pronounced ribs and a unique texture. The handle is thick, large and slightly embedded into the pumpkin. All of these traits make It perfect for carving or decorating.
Unlike many other pumpkins of this size, this variety can grow multiple fruit per vine and still maintain their size. This extra-large pumpkin weighs in at 30-40 pounds and typically is 12· 13" tall and wide.
Chef Jeff's tip: Pumpkins benefit from a mild feed with a fertilizer high in phosphorous to initiate formation of pumpkins.
