This beefsteak type tomato lives up to its name. It produces large, tasty fruits all season long. The large scarlet red fruits average one pound with some weighing up to two pounds. It held a World Record for 28 years for the largest tomato that weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces. The skin is smooth and is resistant to cracking. The interior is meaty with a good amount of gel and contains very few seeds. The size and flavor of this variety make it great for any tomato dish, but a single slice can cover a burger or slice of bread in your next BLT. Stake the vines of this variety to support the weight of the heavy fruits.
